Organisations involved with literacy, reading, publishing, and allied fields also make use of the superb facilities of the building for conferences, symposia, training courses and exhibitions.

Situated on the periphery of the beautiful Company Gardens in Cape Town, this magnificent Edwardian building has 2 different venues for hire.

The Main Hall
A large elegant room of circular design with a grand central dome and ornate roof-light with elegant chandelier. The main hall can seat 120 people for dining and about 300 for cocktails. It can seat 190 people for a lecture.

The Committee Room
A rectangular room with a high vaulted ceiling decorated with hand crafted mouldings. The committee room can seat 80 people cinema style, 120 for standing cocktails and 40 people workshop style.

Equipment available for conferences, book launches and seminars:

1 Television set
1 VCR + 1 video-data projector
2 flip chart stand
1 white board
1 lectern
Public address systems

Kitchen with catering equipment

An excellent caterer can be provided if required.

Tablecloths for hire

Additional Audio Visual requirements can be discussed and an excellent caterer can be recommended if required.
