National and international interlending services to libraries

National Interlending Services

National requests refer to all requests, either online or paper, that are received by the National Library’s Interlending Department from SAIS (Southern African Interlending Scheme) members for material held in the National Library’s own collections.
Requests may be  sent:

    * Online (if you are not subscribing to Sabinet databases such as SACat and ReQuest)

    * By mail:   National Library of South Africa, Pretoria Campus

                        Interlending & Sais Department
                        P. O. Box 397
                        Pretoria
                        0001

    * By fax:    012-325 5702

    * By e-mail: Docdel@nlsa.ac.za

    * ReQuest system if the SAIS member is also a member and subscriber to this product.

Holdings for items should be checked by the requesting library before sending in the request. Our holdings can be found on the National Library catalogue and Sacat.

Our standard processing time is two days. Items held in our Cape Town Campus of off site in Pretoria West may take longer than the standard time.
