Course description
This Course is a basic introduction to MARC 21 and gives an overview of cataloguing rules, bibliographic record creation and concepts encountered in the cataloguing environment. It discusses MARC 21 and the cataloguing and coding of bibliographic data. Only books are discussed in this course.

Course description
a MARC 21 Format for Bibliographic Data telematic training course that supports learners to acquire competencies necessary to compile bibliographic records for non-book material types generally present in library collections - i.e. sound recordings, visual material, electronic and continuing resources - according to the areas of bibliographic description reflected in AACR2 and MARC 21, and to assign suitable access points for successful information retrieval.
