NEWSPAPERS ON MICROFILM

The National Library has been microfilming South African newspapers for the past 40 years. The Library keeps master films of each of more than 15 000 microfilm reels, which are used to make copies on request. These are ordered and used by publishers, libraries, academic and research institutions. The microfilm collection consists of an estimated 7.5 million pages of newsprint, and constitutes a significant body of heritage material.
