ANC Centenary books donation

The ANC’s Progressive Business Forum donated three hundred Centenary Books to the National Library of South Africa (NLSA) on 30 July 2014 at the library's campus in Tshwane. These three hundred books will be distributed to libraries throughout South Africa. Treasurer-General of the ANC, Dr Zweli Mkhize, officiated the handover to Prof. Rocky MD Ralebipi-Simela, NLSA CEO and National Librarian.

The book is titled Unity in Diversity and reflects on the one hundred years of the ANC's existence, the twelve ANC presidents and the twenty years of democracy. The book was progressive business in South Africa's contribution to record the history of the ANC's success. Mr Daryl Swanepoel, the ANC National Convenor, said that the project started in 2012.

On receiving the books, Prof. Ralebipi-Simela promised that they will be looked after since they form part of the South African history. She encouraged people, regardless of the age or gender, to visit the library to access the book and other material that the library host.

Dr Zweli Mkhize expressed appreciation for the role and responsibility of the NLSA to ensure that the book is preserved and accessible to everyone who might want to read it.
