The National Library of South Africa (NLSA) proudly participated in the official launch of 2025 South African Library Week, celebrated under the theme “Libraries for Sustainable Communities.” The event was held at the Dzanani Community Hall, located within the Makhado Municipality in Limpopo.

The launch event highlighted the vital role that libraries play in fostering knowledge, empowering communities, and supporting education. In attendance was the Deputy Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture, Ms. Peace Mabe who emphasised the importance of libraries in advancing learning and contributing to sustainable development across the country.

As part of its continued commitment to promoting literacy and access to information, the NLSA made a generous book donation to the Dzanani Community Library. This initiative forms part of broader efforts to strengthen library services and ensure that communities are equipped with valuable educational resources.
