The National Library of South Africa (NLSA) in collaboration with the High Commission of India launched the ‘India Corner’ at the National Library of South Africa’s Pretoria Campus on 28 March 2025.
Under this initiative, the High Commission of India, led by Ambassador Shri Prabhat Kumar donated around 50 books on various subjects including Indian history, politics, economy, cultural architecture, introduction to foreign policy as well as classical epics like the Ramayana and Mahabharat.
The India Corner will allow for the sharing of Indian knowledge, cultural heritage, history and literature with the people of South Africa. The High Commission of India in Pretoria expressed appreciation of the collaboration with the National Library of South Africa.
The launch of the India Corner amplifies the NLSA’s commitment to providing access to a wealth of knowledge. This dedicated space will serve as a bridge between the two nations. It will encourage the exchange of ideas, stories, and histories that have shaped our respective countries.
